hopper nymph (Ricaniidae) - Bali, Indonesia
Sidemen, Bali, Indonesia
Homoptera: Ricaniidae nymph
ID: Geert Goemans
The waxy plumes are distasteful to predators, and the nymph secretes them constantly as it drains nutrients from the plants with a mouth shaped like a sharpened straw.
