Galls on Monkeycomb Vine

Galls on Pithecoctenus sp, Montezuma, Costa Rica






This is the gall, opened. It was empty.


On Pithecoctenium sp. (Bignoniaceae.) Suspect Cecidomyiidae.  Discs are 3-4mm in diameter, on underside of 3 leaves.
